Frequently Asked Question

Preparations
We handle polishing, and handle plating. We are not mechanics. All items MUST BE TAKEN APART 100%.Clean grease and oil off the parts. If you are not an experienced buffer, please DO NOT grind or sandblast your parts. This could damage your parts, decrease the quality and money in the long run. Occasionally, when parts are stripped and cleaned we find cracks, dents and deterioration that you or we may not have noticed. We will notify you immediately.

Shipping us your parts
We recommend you use UPS or Fed Ex for shipping your parts to us.  Inside the box, in an envelope, include your name,
Day time phone number, make and model of the parts.
Also an accurate parts list, including each nut, bolt and washer
as separate parts.  All parts should be fully disassembled.

Before we do any work to your parts
It may take a day or two, to get your parts unboxed, pictured, and inventoried. We will give you a call with an accurate price on the parts. We WILL NOT do any work on your parts until we get a firm OK from you first, along with a deposit of half down.
If at that time, you do not want us to do your work,
for one reason or another, we can ship you your parts back.
The only charge you will have is the return shipping, and handling.

How an order is priced
Prices are determined by size, condition and desired
finish quality for each piece.  Some parts have a set price,
others need to be seen by us to determine how much
work will be needed complete the piece.

Quality of Finish
Unlike factory production plating, if we handle the plating for you, your parts will be plated with the highest quality materials available. The result is a deep, high-luster, show-quality finish.

Plating of Pot Metal Parts
Due to the natural deterioration of this metal,
it requires a great deal of work and time to restore.
We can sand out as many pits as possible,
have the cracks repaired and then fill pits by hand filing and polishing. Sometimes parts may be too deteriorated to restore.
In a case like that, we recommend the parts be
replaced with better cores, that the customer supplies,
for the best job possible.

Plating of Steel Parts
These parts are priced on average to good condition.
Badly pitted parts will be priced accordingly.
All parts need to be fully disassembled.

Completion Time
In-shop time varies upon size and type of job.
All jobs are completed in the order they are received.
Restoration of pot metal, repair work and show quality finishes
take a great deal of work and time to complete.
PLAN AHEAD, don't wait until the last minute to do your chrome work. Rushing us to complete your order could result in a lower quality than could be given with the proper amount of time needed to complete your order. You will be given an
ESTIMATED TIME to complete your order.  We strive to do a quality job rather than meet a deadline!  Polish only job can be
completed faster than a job that has to be polished
and then chromed. Turn around times vary, depending on the time of year, and our back log at the point in time you send in parts. We cannot guarantee completion dates, only estimates,
e.g.. 1-2 weeks on a polished finish, 4-6 weeks on a plated finish.

Payment
Due to the rising number of people who either run out of money,
lose interest, or for what ever reason, decide they do not want their parts after we have completed the order, we are forced to require a 50% deposit before any work begins!  Deposit is non-refundable if work has already begun on order. We accept Visa, MasterCard,  American Express, money orders, or certified check. Personal checks are accepted, however, processing or shipping of order will be delayed in order for check to process.

Freight Policy

We will return your parts UPS. Claims for items damaged in transit must be filed directly with the carrier.
Important! We are not responsible for packages after they are shipped, insurance is highly recommended.

There are no refunds from us for lost or damaged packages.

Reinstallation
Your parts are plated with a great deal of plating which is much
thicker than factory production plating.  Most problems begin
around bolt and screw holes. Always use washers under bolts and screws. Be careful not to over-tighten which can cause cracking around the hole. We will not be responsible for improper installation using bolts and screws.

Care Of Your Parts
We recommend you maintain your polished and chromed
parts often by using a polish, such as X-Treem.
We keep this product on hand for your convenience.

Warranty
Plating is guaranteed to be free from defective workmanship to
the original purchaser. Under this warranty the part will be
processed, at our option, without charge for the plating. The part must be returned to us with a copy of the original invoice.
This warranty does not apply to plating that has been misused or abused. The warranty covers a period of one (1) year from the date the part was originally processed, not from the date installed. We will not pay for disassembly and/or assembly costs.
This is a one (1) year limited warranty.
